Coaches - I hope the spring has treated you well...hard to believe April is almost over! With that, we have a lot of things happening with the end of the year - especially with the girls season wrapping up in the next 4-5 weeks.

The girls season ends AFTER many of our deadlines for the NSCAA and with many of the schools getting out in mid-May, we have to be proactive in getting the girls all region, all state and All American/Midwest choices in place. So everyone is on the same page, here is how the end of the year will go.

All district: All district teams are decided by the teams in the respective districts. All schools are eligible for all district and how each team does an all district team (numbers, selection process, etc) is up to that district. All district should be completed the week following the district playoffs. We do NOT post or relase all district teams on the website.

All region: Each class has a lead Rep (http://www.mosoccercoach.com/MSHSSCABoard.html) and that Rep handles all of the state for that particular class. Within the class, there are 4-5 regions and each region is charged with coming up with an all region team consisting of players from member schools. The member coaches within the region decide on that team and the following: Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, GK of the Year and Coach of the Year (private and public). All region teams will need to be completed NO LATER than June 1, which means membership must be completed before then in order for the players to be considered. If you would like to be a part of the regional process, CONTACT YOUR CLASS REP.

All state: Each class will then compile the regional teams and hold an all state selection via phone or email. ONLY players on the all region teams are eligible for all state. We will then select a state player for the following awards in each class: Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, GK of the Year and Coach of the Year (private and public). In addition, we will do our final state rankings. The all state calls will be held the week of June 8 and announced by June 12.

All Midwest/All American: The NSCAA has allotted us 2 All Americans and 6 additional All Midwest players for the 2015 year. Because we have to have this information to the NSCAA in the first week of June, we will take All American/Midwest nominations (attached) through May 17. From there, the association will have a chance to vote for finalists and then the finalists will go to the Class reps committee for finalizing. This is a slight change from in the past, but think it will be good to make sure we don't allow any deserving player to slip through the cracks as we want our best players from the state (regardless of class) to represent Missouri soccer. WE CANNOT RELEASE THE WINNERS UNTIL I RECEIVE THE GO AHEAD FROM THE NSCAA – SOMETIME IN JUNE. All American and Midwest girls will be honored at the NSCAA Summer Symposium in Orlando July 30-Aug. 1 https://www.etouches.com/ehome/116729/263211/

Banquet: The Board decided in January to NOT hold a girls banquet this summer. It has proven to be difficult to attract many of the recipients and coaches during the summertime, so we have decided to not hold one this year.

Academic All State – nominations will be taken through May 12. Please email attachment to: mosoccercoachawards@gmail.com. Selections will be made and announced the week of May 19.

Assistant Coach of the Year – Nominations will be taken through June 5.

Team Sportsmanship Award – Nominations will be accepted through June 5.
