The Missouri Soccer Academic Team is a highly select group of seniors from all four classes who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom during their high school careers.  Nominees are first screened for soccer excellence based on information provided by their coach of their playing success and other contributions to the team.  Players that meet the criteria for soccer excellence are then evaluated academically using a combination of their GPA and ACT score (GPA x ACT).  Players must also participate in more than two additional extra-curricular activities in order to be considered. The top players on this objective ranking are placed on the Academic Team.

2020 Boys Academic Team
The Academic Team is a career award for seniors who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom during their high school years. The team consists of 37 players from all classes (not each class). The first criteria is excellence on the field. To qualify in this category a student athlete had to have played at least two years on the varsity for his school and started at least half of the games his team played or played one year and started all the games his team played during that year. All nominees who met the playing criteria were then evaluated on the academic component which consisted of the product of the unweighted GPA and ACT scores. The top 37 student athletes on this score were placed on the team. This year 37 players had an academic score of 120 or higher which corresponds to an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and an ACT score of 30.
