A day off in Nice, France. A beautiful day walking through the city doing some shopping and enjoying all that the French Riviera has to offer.

Arrived in Cannes on June 30 and immediately played a friendly that night at a local club. Won 3-2 despite our lack of sleep and the first time we had ever played together!

At the site of an 800-year old castle overlooking the Mediterranean at Tossa de Mar, Spain. We had a free day before starting the Copa Catalunya. Took a train/bus up the coast and a ferry boat along the Costa Brava back.

2010 Trip

France and Spain

It took over 6 months to plan, but we finally made it!

For this trip, we took 16 girls from eight different schools to the French Riviera and the Copa Catalunya Tournament on the Costa Brava of Spain. We flew from St. Louis on June 29 to Chicago and then on to Madrid and Nice, France. From there, a bus into Cannes, France, where we stayed for three days at a local hotel overlooking the city. We spent the first day and night seeing the city of Cannes (the spot of the famous international film festival) and playing a friendly against a local club team.

The next day was a trip to Nice, France, playground of Europe's rich and famous. The final day in France was spent in on a day trip to famous province of Monaco, where we saw the casino, a lot of really nice cars and expensive shops and swam in the Mediterranean. Oh, and France was also a great spot to watch all of the World Cup games!

The fourth day was a travel day from Cannes to our 4-Star hotel on the Costa Brava of Spain.
